The Jewish Community Library is seeking an experienced professional to serve as a librarian at the Library’s central San Francisco location, ideally beginning in February or March.
This position entails responsibility for the core operations of the library, including maintaining the catalog and circulation system, assisting patrons, and supervising volunteers. It also involves administering the library’s services to book groups, and assisting the library director in planning and implementing public programs and doing publicity and outreach.

The job can be between 30 and 36 hours per week, depending on the preferences of the right candidate, with the salary based on $76,000 FTE. It includes Kaiser and dental benefits. The candidate must generally be available during the hours the Library is open to the public: Sundays 12-4, and Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 11-5.
Qualifications:
This position requires a detail-oriented candidate, preferably with library or resource center experience. Must have broad knowledge of Jewish religion, history, and culture; love of Jewish books; excellent written and oral communication abilities; and strong customer service skills.
