Meir Shalev: A Pigeon and a Boy

During Israel’s 1948 War of Independence, a young homing pigeon handler sends off one last pigeon in his final moments, bearing an unusual gift to his girlfriend. Meanwhile, we also learn the contemporary story of a middle-aged tour guide who falls in love again with his childhood sweetheart and uncovers a secret connection to the bird handler.
